There should be NO justification in the eBook since the user will decide if they want left/right justification or ragged right edge. Things have changed since I first formatted my book. But you don't control the hyphens, the reader device does and this is good. Without hyphens, some font sizes may look atrocious. Also, you can't control the size of the font that the user will pick. KDP/Amazon considers hyphenation creates better line spacing, faster reading, and less eye strain. Is it because it's not doing hyphenation right? When I created my print version, I used Word's hyphenation but I checked each hyphenated words because it sometimes didn't do it right. It may also depend on whether your Kindle has advanced type setting. Jay is right that you want to upload a file that's not bloated with hidden stuff. That said, I send Word docs to Kindle for reviewing, not as a final uploaded file. Best to have justification in the document. And instead of getting the line stretched out, I'd get some lines that didn't quite go to the end of the line.
